NLC Congressional City Conference

Synopsis

Erik Peterson from the Afterschool Alliance will describe the implications of the President’s budget that threatens to eliminate $1.12 Billion in federal funding for afterschool and summer programs and share exciting new federal funding opportunities on the horizon for cities. Municipal officials will gain access to new tools to help program providers in their communities strengthen afterschool and summer learning programs, as well as learn how to participate in NLC’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) initiative.

All elected officials and city leaders are invited to join the NLC APAN Luncheon. Learn strategies from your peers and share how you are addressing the afterschool need in your city. The APAN Luncheon is a FREE event providing a hot buffet lunch, no ticket required. Space is limited. Registered elected officials receive priority. Walk-ins admitted on first-come, first-served basis.
