James Ritchotte joined Climate Mayors in October 2018 after spending the last eight years focused on clean energy and grid modernization policies. Prior to joining Climate Mayors, James consulted for energy technology companies, as well as trade and industry associations focused on resilient infrastructure. James was previously with GE’s Grid Solutions business where he was responsible for identifying and influencing major policy and regulatory developments impacting utilities and their investment decisions. Prior to joining GE, James was Director, Government Affairs for the U.S., with Alstom. While at Alstom, James focused primarily on renewable energy and electric grid issues affecting the company and its customers. James has over 15 years of experience in energy and environmental issues. He worked on Capitol Hill for Congressman Tom Lantos from California where he focused on climate change and energy security. Following Congressman Lantos, James served at the British Embassy as Senior Policy Advisor to the Climate Change and Energy Team, where he led the congressional engagement strategy on UK climate change and energy policy. James has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Xavier University.
