Health & Safety Protocol

Safety & Well-being

As the National League of Cities prepares to gather for its first in-person event in nearly two years, our top priority remains the health and safety of our NLC community.

NLC is committed to complying with the District of Columbia’s health guidelines to ensure Congressional City Conference events follow all required local protocols. Based on guidelines provided by DC Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, all attendees must adhere to mandatory indoor mask requirements AND proof of vaccination requirements.

The outlined health and safety protocols are required of all conference attendees including general attendees, contractors, speakers, sponsors, guests and staff.

Proof of Vaccination

In accordance with the mandatory DC vaccine entry requirement, all event participants must provide proof of full vaccination prior to attending the conference. Boosters are not currently required.

Event attendees must show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to pick up a CCC badge. A negative COVID-19 test will NOT be accepted in lieu of vaccination.

More information about how to submit your vaccination validation will be shared with registrants.

Indoor Mask Requirement

All attendees at the conference must wear a face mask at all times while indoors unless they are actively eating or drinking.

COVID Testing

At this time, NLC does not plan to require testing prior to entry to the conference. We continue to monitor this situation and will revise this policy as necessary.

COVID “at-home” testing will be made available onsite upon request. Anyone who experiences symptoms of COVID-19 should immediately isolate in their hotel room and contact a staff person.

A negative COVID-19 test will NOT be accepted in lieu of vaccination.

Physical Distancing

All attendees will be instructed to observe physical distancing as much as is feasible at the conference.

NLC recognizes the fast-changing landscape of the pandemic and continues to monitor the situation and will adjust our health and safety protocols accordingly.

What to Expect Onsite at CCC

Hand sanitization stations will be placed throughout the event space to encourage frequent hand sanitization.

CCC will be declared a “no handshake” event and attendees will be encouraged to offer other types of no-touch greetings.

Our headquarter hotel, the Marriott Marquis, has increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfection, particularly in areas with high traffic including restrooms, elevators, and escalators as well as provided more hand sanitizing stations.
