Make Your Voice Heard: Attend NLC’s 2018 Capitol Hill Advocacy Day

Wednesday, March 14

NLC’s Capitol Hill Advocacy Day gives local leaders the opportunity to:

  • Meet with your Members of Congress and their staff to advocate for city priorities.
  • Share your city’s story and how decisions made by Congress impact your community.
  • Network with fellow city advocates.

Whether it’s your first-time visiting Capitol Hill, or your hundredth, thank you for being a city advocate. During NLC’s Capitol Hill Advocacy Day, the discussions you have with federal legislators and their staff will help us make a difference for cities everywhere. In this module, you’ll find everything you need to know for a successful day on Capitol Hill with NLC.

How to Access Your Schedule and Capitol Hill Advocacy Day Materials

This year, NLC is partnering with Soapbox Consulting to schedule all appointments with congressional delegations for our Capitol Hill Advocacy Day participants. Because congressional appointments can and do change up until the last minute, final schedules will not be available until the day before the event during our Capitol Hill Advocacy Day Briefing. However, you will have access to your preliminary schedule through our Advocacy Day Mobile Tool, which gives registered participants access to:

  • Personalized real-time schedules for March 14
  • Member of Congress biographies
  • Talking points, leave-behind materials and a map of Capitol Hill
  • Day-of-event alerts
  • Meeting report back form
  • Soapbox Help Desk

Click here and use the mobile code you received in your pre-event email to access the tool.

Capitol Hill Advocacy Day Briefing

On March 13 at 2:30 p.m. in the Marriott Wardman Park Roosevelt Rooms 1, 2 & 3 all Capitol Hill Advocacy Day participants must attend a mandatory Advocacy Day briefing. During this session, you’ll meet your advocacy team, discuss logistics, review your final schedule, and receive leave behind materials. NLC Federal Advocacy and Soapbox Consulting staff will be on hand to answer any questions.
