NLC University: Understanding Public Finance

This session is designed to help local elected officials and city staff understand the role of elected officials in public finance. Attendees will walk away with an understand of critical public finance topics along with best practices and resources that will allow them to better engage in managing a financially sustainable and well managed government. Specific focus will be on understanding financial reports and financial disclosure, the role of elected officials in establishing financial policies, best practices in budgeting. Register for this training if you would like to better understand critical elements of public finance and gain tools and techniques improving the financial management of your jurisdiction.
