Andreas Addison


Andreas Addison was born and raised in Virginia. Received his bachelors in Political Science from Virginia Tech and earned his MBA from the University of Richmond. During his eight year career working in City Hall in Richmond Virginia as a Civic Innovator, he led the IBM Smarter Cities Challenge project, Code for America partnership, and launched Virginia’s first Open Data Portal. He then ran for City Council in 2016 to represent the First District. Entering his second term, he is a champion for Vision Zero, Complete Streets, Multi-Modal Transportation, Equitable Development, and Participatory Budgeting. Andreas represents the City of Richmond on several regional boards and commissions and currently serves as Chair of Virginia First Cities. He currently teaches Social Enterprise at the Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia.
