James Goldstein

International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC)

Goldstein handles transportation of hazardous material issues, and fire service issues involved with mission critical voice communications and broadband development for public safety. Goldstein is staff liaison to the IAFC communications committee. Goldstein represents the IAFC on the Executive Committee of the Department of Homeland Security Office of Emergency Communications SAFECOM program. Goldstein also sits on the governing board of the National Public Safety Telecommunications Council (NPSTC). Prior to starting at IAFC Headquarters, Goldstein worked for Motorola Corporation for 26 years acting as an attorney specializing in government contract law, and as a lobbyist for the company focused on public safety issues, particularly funding communications needs of public safety. After he retired from Motorola, Goldstein worked as a radio consultant for the Delaware Volunteer Firemen’s Association and was on the Board of Directors for Saving Promise, a domestic violence protection organization. Goldstein has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland in government relations, and graduated from New York Law School graduating with a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude.
