John Kinnaird

Council Member John Kinnaird  served as Mayor Pro Tem from May 2013 to May 2014, and was initially elected to office in 2012. Kinnaird serves on various boards and committees, including chairing the Waco-McLennan County Public Health District, the Downtown Cultural District, the McLennan County Appraisal District Board, and the I-35 Bridge Lighting Committee. He also serves as Chair of a policy steering committee for the National League of Cities and holds a position on the Metropolitan Planning Organization’s policy board. Kinnaird also works for Community Bank & Trust as a Vice President and Trust Officer. He earned his CFA charter in 2012 and works as an investment portfolio manager for the bank’s Trust Department. Prior to serving on the Council, Kinnaird was appointed to the City of Waco’s Zoning Board of Adjustments in 2008, and served as chairman of the board from 2010-2012. John participated in the 25th class of Leadership Waco, and also volunteered as a consultant encouraging other individuals to serve their community through elected public service. Kinnaird holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Baylor University.
