Associate Deputy Chief State and Private Forestry

Mark Lichtenstein is the USDA Forest Service Acting Associate Deputy Chief for State and Private Forestry where he oversees the Fire and Aviation Management program. Mark has served in this role for over a year. Prior to that he was the Deputy Director of Fire and Aviation Management and has also served in several budget related positions within the Forest Service. Mark has also worked for the US Army where he lead their Forestry program as well as spending time as a consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton. Mark is a proud graduate of Oregon State University where he earned a B.S. in Forest Management and Masters in Forest Economics.
