NYC of Samaschool
Therese Workman is Director, NYC of Samaschool, a non-profit that equips people to benefit from independent work and advocates for an economy in which all workers thrive. She also serves as lead instructor, ensures Samaschool’s NYC programs are implemented with quality, and supports Samaschool’s students and partners to prepare participants for freelance work and long-term career success.
Therese previously served as the Sr. Manager of Digital Content Strategies at ExpandED Schools, a non-profit that pioneered the NYC after-school movement and influenced policy change by showing how private investment could leverage more efficient and effective use of public investments in both education and youth development. She also has an array of experience in learner support in higher education, from her posts with the Fulbright Program at the Institute of International Education, and with Columbia University’s Office of Global Programs. Therese has an AB in Visual and Environmental Studies and a Master of Education from Harvard University.
